Mandatory 6 digit HS Codes effective July 1, 2025

Subject: Notice Regarding Iraqi Customs Tariff Enforcement- Mandatory HS
Codes effective July 1, 2025 (IMPORTANT)

Please be advised of a critical update from Iraq. Effective July 1, 2025, the Iraqi Ministry
of Finance is enforcing a new, unified customs tariff at all borders. This applies to cargo
with an ETA at Umm Qasr (IQUQR) on or after July 1, 2025.

Action Required:

All bills of lading and cargo manifests must now include valid 6-digit Harmonized
System (HS) codes. Non-compliance will result in penalties.

This measure aims to standardize customs processes and ensure fair trade. Please
refer to the original advisory in Annexure I.
